Ready to go racing

Hi everyone,

Thanks for checking out my brand new website which I think the guys have done a great job on. This is my first blog of 2010 and there will be plenty more to come.

The James Walker Motorsport team has been busy in the build up to the new season. It all started on January 3rd when I returned from my winter break back home in Jersey and flew to Florida for the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona test session. I teamed up with my manager Tim Sugden and the JLowe Racing crew for this event. It was my first experience of racing in America and I have to say that I enjoyed every minute of it. I was back at Daytona for the race itself at the end of January. Again the atmosphere was awesome but I'm afraid to say the race itself was not. An engine problem stopped the team from getting what would have been a strong result. I have to say a big thank you to Jim Lowe, Jim Pace, Eric Lux and Tim for helping me settle into what was an unusual environment for me. I loved every minute of it. Plus it was only January and my Air Miles were looking good!

I was back to training hard in Oxford during the first week of February. Physically I'm feeling stronger and fitter than ever and I'm looking forward to working with Stewart at Formula Fitness again in 2010.

Two weeks ago, we put pen to paper, and confirmed that this year I'll be driving for Liverpool FC in the Superleague Formula By Sonangol. I've already enjoyed a visit to Anfield to see the team at work and introduce myself to the crowd. It was a great way to see how passionate the Liverpool fans are about their club.

The last week has been spent training a lot and I've also been back in Jersey meeting current and new sponsors for 2010. Its looks like we will be adding some new names to our already strong group of sponsors and business partners.

I'm really looking forward to the first race at Silverstone next week. We are due to shake the car down on Thursday, ahead of testing on Friday, qualifying Saturday and racing Sunday.

Thanks again for your support!

James
