James Walker secures drive in European Le Mans Series Silverstone Race

Date: 15.04.14

Jersey racing driver James Walker will make a welcome return to the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) this weekend after a last minute deal which sees him join the hugely successful British squad Greaves Motorsport.  The event takes place at Silverstone on the world famous Grand Prix circuit, with testing getting underway on Friday 18th and the four hour race on Saturday 19th April.

"The European Le Mans Series is once again very competitive this year and we will be looking to add to our previous successes" says Team Manager Jacob Greaves.  James will be driving the team's Zytek-Nissan Z11SN.

"I can't wait to get back behind the wheel of an LMP2 car and return to Silverstone for the European Le Mans Series. Having won races in the ELMS in 2011 and 2012 when I was driving for the JMW Motorsport team in their Ferrari 458, it will be great to be back in the paddock and to catch up with some old friends. My 2013 season started in a similar way in the World Endurance Championship at Silverstone. Coming away with victory last year was fantastic so I am particularly looking forward to returning to this brilliant British circuit with my main aim being to repeat this result."

James' team mates for this weekend will be two fellow British drivers, Tony Wells and James Littlejohn.  Walker comments, "I'm really looking forward to working with Tony and James. They had a great pre-season test last week at Paul Ricard, so I think we've got a fantastic line up. I also want to say a huge thank you to the entire Greaves Motorsport team for putting this deal together which allows me to join the team and be part of their success.
